I visited the Loretto chapel in Santa Fe and there is a story behind the construction of the beautiful spiral staircase which leads to the choir loft . Apparently, it was built by a stranger to the nuns there, a carpenter who designed and built it out of wood that is not found in that region, and who disappeared as mysteriously as he had appeared. I have my own opinion about who that man was, but to me, the spiral staircase looks much like a strand of DNA, the double helix, which form the building blocks of our very bodies. The spiral form is repeated in the galaxy, and angels ascend and descend the staircase. I hear the music of the spheres, not a big bang. Intelligent design indeed.
